Start with Hint 1, then work your way down only as far as you need to.
1How Many Vowels Are in Today's Wordle?
Vowel count is one of the fastest early filters in Wordle. Knowing how many of A, E, I, O, U appear narrows thousands of candidates at once.
2What Letter Does Today's Wordle Start With?
Locking down the opening letter shapes your whole first guess. Once you know it, starters covering common consonants work best.
3What Letter Does Today's Wordle End With?
Endings carry strong patterns in English — common closers like E, Y, T, and R eliminate huge groups of words in one stroke.
4Does Any Letter Repeat in Today's Wordle?
A repeated letter changes your strategy completely: doubles are easy to miss and quietly waste precious guess slots.
5What Is the Second Letter?
The second slot is one of the most revealing positions. Combine it with the first letter and the field shrinks fast.
6What Does Today's Wordle Mean?
When letters fail, meaning helps. A one-line definition often triggers the word your guesses couldn't reach.
Take the hints one at a time — each reveal is optional, so your streak stays safe.
Bonus Hint — Visual ClueNew
A visual hint that points to the answer without spelling it out. Reveal it only if the six text hints weren't enough.

Strategy Tips
Five habits that separate consistent solvers from lucky guessers:
- Open with a vowel-heavy starter like CRANE or SLATE. Covering common letters early gives every later guess more information.
- Never repeat a gray letter. If a tile went gray, that letter is out — spend the slot on a fresh candidate instead.
- Think in word families, not single words. With _IGHT on the board, list LIGHT, MIGHT, NIGHT, and TIGHT before committing a guess.
- Use your second guess to eliminate, not to win. A deliberately different word testing five new letters beats a lucky stab.
- Watch for doubles. Words like BLOOD or CHEEK hide repeated letters that most players overlook until guess five.
Wordle hints FAQ
Wordle is a daily word puzzle from The New York Times. You get six tries to guess a secret five-letter word. After each guess, tiles turn green, yellow, or gray to show which letters are correct and in the right spot.
We publish six progressive hints for each day's puzzle, from gentle to revealing: vowel count, first letter, last letter, repeated letters, second letter, and the word's meaning. Every hint stays hidden until you tap its reveal button, so you decide how much help you take.
A new Wordle puzzle goes live at midnight in your local time zone. Our hints and answer for the new puzzle are updated shortly after midnight Eastern Time.
Only if you want them to. Hints are hidden until you reveal them one by one, and the answer sits behind its own separate reveal button. Stop at any hint and keep guessing to protect your streak.
The previous day's answer is shown in the Yesterday section on this page, and the Past Answers section lists the last 30 days of solutions.
